Project Life week 42

Hi I'm back today with a project life post.  I am up to date and enjoying it!! This is still one of my favorite ways of documenting our everyday, I love this project. I haven't been posting lately so it will take me a while to get all my weeks posted here but I'll just go ahead and start with the most current week.  I recently ordered my first PL kit from Citrus Twist Kits and I was really happy with it.  I love that they include a 6x6 paper pad that coordinates really well with the rest of the kit and the cards are super cute! I also really liked the stamps that came in this months PL kit. This week was mostly done with products from the kit and I'm really happy with the way it turned out.

I really had fun with the title card this week.  I used a Sil cut by Two Peas that I had made previously and some embellishments from the CT kit.  Below are some of my favorite cards and pictures of the week.

Such a cute card from the kit, the perfect sentiment.  I just added some rub on sequins and stars that were also in the kit this month.

I  added the string that the kit comes wrapped in on this card to hand the little heart.

As I mentioned before most of this weeks spread was done with the CT PL kit, but I also used some things from my stash.  Some enamel dots, not sure of the brand since I got rid of the packaging, stamps from the Studio Calico kits, some washi tape that came in a SC kit, Smash tabs, some silhouette cuts and some american craft thickers by Amy Tangerine.

I'm linking up with The Mom Creative today! Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!

December is near!

Hi!! I'm back! It's been a while but I've decided to jump right back in.  I can hardly believe how fast this year is going.  Before we know it December will be here.  How do you document December? Last year was my first failed attempt at doing a December Daily.  I didn't prepare ahead of time and ended up feeling pressured and getting stressed about the entire thing.  The stress over it was so much that I didn't even finish December in my Project life album.  This year I will try again and I'm determined not to fail!  I went ahead and preordered the Studio Calico December Daily kit and it arrived last week.

I must say, I am extremely happy with this kit! The album is beautiful!! And the kit is packed with yummy papers, cards and tons of embellishments!!! I'm really excited to dig in and start planning and arranging it! I also can't wait to see how Ali Edwards will be putting her pages together!  Her albums are always very inspiring!!  Since this year I don't want to stress over it and give up, I've decided that the best thing to do is get started on it.  I plan on working on it every chance I get, I definitely want to decide how and decorate the outside of the album and set up my cover page and perhaps set up papers in the order I'd like them to be in the album.  I've already  opened everything and started to get some ideas, keeping it simple will be key to getting it done.

So how will you be documenting December? I'd love to see!!  If you are interested in December Daily by Studio Calico and Ali Edwards you can find it here and here .  I hope to be back on later this week with some of my Project Life spreads.  Have a great week and thanks for stopping by!!

Project Life (week 6)

Today I'm sharing week 6 with you, it's another one page spread. Not too much happening this week but that's what I love about this project, capturing the day to day moments, real life, not just the birthdays or holidays. This week I've used mainly my sea foam edition core kit by Becky Higgins with the exception of the card on the top right which is from my studio calico project life kit which I subscribe to every month. The black and the white mini alphas are by BasicGrey and are a perfect addition to my spreads each week. I absolutely love them! The hello, this is life and gelly roll letters are are from the snap collection by simple stories. I've kept it pretty simple this week, thanks for stopping by!

Project Life (week 5)

Today I'm sharing week 5 with you, I realize we are currently in week 14 but since I haven't kept up with my posting here on the blog I thought I'd continue where I left off. You can also find me on Instagram as miri6guez and that's where I've been posting my PL weeks lately. It seems I've been slacking off on my picture taking lately so I only needed one page for this week. This is why I love this method of memory keeping, it's so versatile and you can make it work for you! If you'd like more info on project life or are not familiar with this be sure to visit beckyhiggins.com for more details. This week I've used mostly products from the studio calico project life kit and some journal cards from the Becky Higgins Sea Foam edition. The stickers and veneer are from studio calico that I purchased at my local Archivers. The washi tape is from my stash that I've had for a while and the mini white alphas are made by BasicGrey also got those at Archivers. Those alphas are perfect for project life!! Thank you for stopping by!

Project Life week 4

Well it definitely doesn't feel like winter here, we have been spoiled with temperatures in the 70's since last week!! And I'm not complaining, I just hope this doesn't mean we will have the hottest of summers!!  Here is a look at my project life pages week 4. This year I have decided to do my weeks from Monday to Sunday, it just makes it easier to document the weekends this way.

Happenings this week: received the AC valentine stamp from an awesome instagram friend, warm weather meant lots of playtime outdoors for the little one, a trip to the zoo, snowcones (in december, gotta love this weather) and finally made a trip to Ikea for my Raskog cart!

Project Life 2013 week 3

Today I'm sharing week 3 of Project Life 2013 with you.  I have decided to keep it simple this week. This is my second year doing Project Life I still find it absolutely amazing!!!  I love this project and I am very excited to be starting this new year.  Last year I filled two albums and it is so wonderful to go thru them and remember everything we did.  This year I am using the seafoam kit and the colors are awesome!!! I love every single card in this kit without a doubt!!  I have also subscribed to the Studio Calico Project Life kit and the January kit was amazing and I can't wait to receive the  February kit.

WEEK 3

LEFT SIDE

On this side I've used products form seafoam kit and studio calico kit, also some tags from Chic Tags some Amy Tangerine stickers, digital elements from Ali Edwards and some cuts using my silhouette cameo.

RIGHT SIDE
I'm still missing a picture on the bottom right, but unfortunately I ran out of ink so it hasn't gotten printed yet.  This side includes more seafoam and studio calico, and some really cute pics of the little one at her 18 month check up.  Once again I'm keeping it simple.

My favorite card from this week.  The little alphas are from jillibean and are perfect size for project life.  the hello word bubble was created by me using my silhouette cameo and the arrows are digital stamps from studio calico that I also cut with my silhouette cameo.

see how perfect the little alphas are : )

Well that is another week in the books for me, thanks for stopping by!!

Project life organization for 2013

I'd like to share with you how I've organized my supplies this year for Project Life.  I think that part of the reason I fell behind a few times last year was how unorganized my supplies became throughout  the year.  This year I've decided to stay organized and keep track of all the supplies I have by setting up a special spot exclusively for PL.  Last year my husband made me an organizer to hold all my cards and supplies, I've received some questions about this organizer as I posted it last year here on the blog.  Well I came up with the design, told him more or less the size I needed and what items I wanted to store, and he "magically" made it happen!!  Did I mention he is an awesome husband?!! He did not draw out any plans and he used recycled wood and pieces he had leftover from other projects.  It measures about 3 ft wide and 1 1/2 ft deep.  I told him the sizes I wanted each of the compartments to fit in the journaling cards for project life, and a few other compartments for larger supplies.  I love it and it is perfect for PL and this year I vow to stay organized!!  Since I have received some requests for this organizer, we are working on a plan to make and sell these, I will let you know if and when this happens, and thank you to everyone who has taken an interest in this.  As I mentioned before I really want to stay organized this year, and so I am purging alot of the things that I don't use, I really just want to keep it simple and just work with my seafoam corekit and with the studio calico PL kit that I have subscribed to.  Here are a few pictures of how I've organized so far.

This is the spot I have designated for my Project Life.  My super amazing husband made me this new table about a week ago and I am in love with it!!!  Previously I was doing all my crafting in the playroom which I had turned into my craft room, but we have a 18 month old who will be using that space soon and now I am claiming the front room and hoping to convert it into my own craft room soon, trying to convince the hubby to build a wall to make it separate from the entry way, I'll keep you posted on how it all turns out.

Here is a closer look at my project life setup and everything that I have included in my organizer so far.

Here is a close up of the left side

and the right side

I found these at Target and I love them.

Here is a peek inside

my favorite ink pads

I love these labels to add some journaling to pictures

tags are perfect for adding details

of course my seafoam kit must have a spot all on its own

So this is how I've set up so far, I was able to go to Ikea today and I picked up not 1 but 2 Raskog carts for a few other supplies that I want to keep handy,  I'll show you how I've set those up once I organize them.  Thank you for stopping by and I'd love to see how you've set up for Project Life 2013!!!
